Hemant Soren is likely to be in the Raj Bhavan right now. Mahua Majhi, a JMM Rajya Sabha MP, said, “ED officials had gone inside Raj Bhavan with Hemant Soren.”
The news comes at the same time that Hemant Soren is being questioned by the ED about allegedly moving money in a “land scam” case. The former CM was thought to be missing, but he was found yesterday at his home in Ranchi.
This came after the ED raided his home in Delhi and took several things, including Rs 36 lakh and an SUV. Lots of talk went around that Hemant Soren’s wife would be named the next CM, but JMM put an end to that while showing unity.
Hemant has also filed a FIR against the agents who searched his home in Delhi, even though he is under ED’s scrutiny. Champai Soren was working as the Cabinet Minister of Transport, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste & Backward class welfare in Hemant’s cabinet.
Who is Champai Soren?
Champai Soren is a seven-time member of parliament for Jharkhand’s Seraikella constituency.
Before becoming a member of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, he was an Independent MLA. He is currently employed by the Jharkhand government as the minister of transportation. Champai actively participated in the push for Jharkhand to become a distinct state. During the movement, he gained notoriety and earned the nickname “Jharkhand Tiger.”
